Ruth Nedra Degenthardt, 83, passed away at 4:50 p.m Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro .
She was born June 13, 1915 in Du Quoin to Hayden Aquilla and Flora Ann Horner Danbury. She married Joe H. Dengehardt on Oct. 4, 1930 in Jonesboro. She and husband, Joe, were owners of Degenhardt Paint Store in Du Quoin. She was a avid painter artist.
She was survived by her two sons and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and three brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 22, 1998 at the Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel in Du Quoin, with the Rev. Eldon Earnest officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Du Quoin. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or Hospice.
