FUNERAL SERVICES FOR GLADYS MARTIN
Funeral services were held Saturday morning for Gladys MARTIN, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry MARTIN, who was killed in an automobile accident in New York state.
The services, which were widely attended, were held in the Catholic church with Rev. Edward Prinster giving the sermon.
Pallbearers were from the Hayden high school class who graduated with Miss MARTIN. They were Warren ANNAND, Gerald BAIRD, Jack KITCHENS, Wesley SINES, Benny ERWIN and Ed TEMPLE.
Mr. and Mrs. MARTIN received many letters of sympathy from Washington from people who had known Gladys while she had been in government service there. Letters included one from Linsay WARREN, comptroller general of the United States; J. Ashley MASON, attorney in the legal division of the general accounts office, and Elizabeth P. JONES, her section supervisor. All spoke in glowing terms of the Steamboat girl.
Miss Evelyn CARTER of Washington, D. C., roommate of Miss MARTIN, came here for the funeral.
