MANCHESTER, NH – A. Lee Donovan, a resident of Manchester, NH for the past 24 years, formerly of Chelmsford died Monday, December 20, 2004 at his home at the age of 56. He was the husband of Joan L. (Lanzetta) Donovan.

Born in Lowell on January 9, 1948, he was a son of Elizabeth (Messier) Donovan who survives him and resides in Chelmsford, and the late Forrest L. Donovan. Mr. Donovan graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Boston with a Bachelor Degree in Economics. He was currently serving as a Sergeant Major for the NH Army National Guard and had served for 27 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0079 in Manchester, NH, and the EANGUS (Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the U.S.) Mr. Donovan was a communicant of St. Catherine's Church in Manchester, NH.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Pamela Jenkins of Tyngsboro, a son, SSG Michael Donovan , U.S. Army, stationed in Monterey, CA, two step-sons, James Hawes of Hingham, MA, and Christopher Hawes of Reading, MA, three grandchildren, Joshua Jenkins of Tyngsboro, Anika Jenkins of Tyngsboro, Kai Hawes of Hingham, a sister, Jill McDonnell of N. Chelmsford, a brother, Bruce Donovan of Chelmsford, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visiting hours at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Rte. 4, Chelmsford. Burial at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
