Richard A. Zima, 74, died on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, in Punta Gorda, Fla., after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Manitowoc, the son of Edward and Elsie (Schroeder) Zima.

Richard was a retired entrepreneur from the trucking industry. He was a member of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, Punta Gorda Elk Lodge and Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Tri State University in Indiana.

Richard enjoyed boating, he was the skipper of the Good Shepard, fishing and traveling. He also enjoyed a good game of cribbage, polka and Big Band music and unique stuffed animals.

Richard is survived by, and will be greatly missed by, his wife of 24 years, Arlene (nee Gundrum); son, Richard E. (Patty) Zima of Kewaskum; daughter, Cheryl L. (Richard) Draxler of Oshkosh; step-son, Ralph (Helen) Rocette of Winneconne; step-daughter, Cindy (Steve) Krontz of Appleton; step-son, Brett (Kim) Racette of Omro; brother, Matt (Jane) Zima of Appleton; sister, Mary (Dave) Stangel of Manitowoc; 15 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Church in West Bend on Friday, March 19, 2010, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 1144 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, Fla., 33952
