Shirley Ericksen, 75, of 65 W. 800 N., Orem, died after a long illness Monday, April 5, 1976 at the Utah Valley Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1900 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Louis and Emily Elizabeth Waldermar Ericksen. He married Louise Marie Christensen on Oct. 6, 1932 in Provo and the marriage was solemnized later in the Manti LDS Temple.
He was educated in Mt. Pleasant schools, including Wasatch Academy, and was graduated from North Sanpete High School. He attended barber school in Salt Lake City and Los Angeles. He worked as a barber in Orem for many years.
Mr. Ericksen played baseball and football in high school and was also interested in basketball, fishing, and hunting.
Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Fred L. (Shirleen) Cowley, Brigham City; Mrs. Albert M. (Billie Lou) Rowley Jr., Orem; six grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Frank Keith Ericksen, Orem; Mrs. Ina Allred, Tooele, and Mrs. Cecil (Beth) Downs, Copperton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Orem 10th Ward Chapel, 150 E. 600 N. Bishop Howard Holman of the 10th Ward will officiate. Friends may call at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. or Thursday at the ward chapel one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
