J.C. McCaulley of Maryville, age 88, passed away on July 23, 2017.

Mr. McCaulley was born in Cades Cove, and after many years residing out of state, returned to live in Maryville in 2006. He was the last surviving child of John and Rutha Myers McCaulley, who left Cades Cove in 1935 and settled on a farm in Hubbard.

J.C. leaves his wife of 63 years, Margaret Osborne McCaulley of Gloucestershire, England, sons James and wife Karen, and Steven, grandsons Bradley and Daniel.

The family will receive friends 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday July 25, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home: 1102 Big Springs Rd. Maryville, TN 37801. Family and friends will meet 11:00 A.M. Wednesday July 26, 2017 at Piney Level church cemetery for internment. He will be buried in the land that once belonged to the family farm, part of which was given to the church by his father in order to provide resting places for the family.

The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Cades Cove Preservation Association: 1004 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Maryville, TN 37804.
