Funeral for George William Ankeny, 4766 N. DePauw Ave., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in University Park Methodist Church. He died Oct. 29 in a local hospital. Until his retirement he was financial secretary for Carpenters Local No. 583, AFL-CIO.
Born in Milledgeville, Ill., June 21, 1878, Mr. Ankeny came to Portland 53 years ago. He was a member of Sr. John's Golden Age Club and University Park Methodist Church.
Survivors include the widow, Effie E.; a son, Clem N. of Portland; a daughter, Alice D. Burns of Gresham; two brothers, John of Scott Bluff, Neb., and Clem of Phoenix, Ariz; and three sisters, Miriam Ankeny of Kansas City, Mo.; Faith Ankeny of Denver Colo.; and Katherine Ankeny in Milledgeville, Ill.
Interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens. Mike-worth's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
