Daniel J. Haupt, age 71, of Stevens Point passed away peacefully Friday July 21, 2017 at his home in Stevens Point.

A Memorial Service for Dan will be held Thursday July 27, 2017 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point. Friends and family will gather to celebrate Dan's life from 3:00-5:00 PM on Thursday.

Dan was born January 10, 1946 the son of Emil and Alice (Bone) Haupt in Marshfield. Dan graduated from Columbus High School and worked in housekeeping at St. Michael's hospital for over 43 years until he retired. Cars were Dan's passion and he loved his 1964 Chrysler. He attended many of the local car shows throughout his life.

Dan is survived by his 8 siblings: Doug (Lucia) Haupt, Patrick (Mary) Haupt, Jean Wilhelm, Ruth (Howard) Mauldin, Peg (Dennis) Chiti, Sandi (Jon) Mortvedt, Linda Brachmann, and Pam (Steve) Russell, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Catherine, and brothers, Jim, Larry, Ron, Ken, Paul, and Michael.
