Born February 17, 1927 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late James Washington Travis and Carrie Anna Whitener Travis.
A member of Faith United Church of Christ, she was previously employed in the textile industry as a weaver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Winstead; three sisters and three brothers.
Blanche is survived by her sons, Donald Winstead and wife Patsy and Steve Winstead; daughters, Cathy Rudisill and husband, Jackie and Beverly Watts and husband Chad; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
