Edna May Clifford was born in 1911 to Samuel Clifford and Tryphena Jane Jolly. Her father died in the same year she was born and her mother married Robert A. Hyman in 1914. Robert adopted Edna and she assumed the Hyman surname. Edna married Ralph Harley Grubaugh on 4 Jul 1928. Ralph and Edna had two children - Maxwell Dale Grubaugh (1928-1971) and Albert Ernest Grubaugh (1929-1991). Ralph and Edna divorced sometime after 1940 and Ralph married Bellouise Duncan.
Edna never remarried. She moved to Georgia to be near her son, Maxwell. Maxwell died in 1971, and Edna stayed on in George, dying in 2005.
