Everett Lee Chapman, 79, Rogersville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Everett was born November 13, 1937 in Blue Springs, Missouri, the son of the late Russell and Dorothy (Carpenter) Chapman. He attended Blue Springs High School. He was united in marriage on September 25, 1955 in West Plains, Missouri, to Barbara Louise Whitsell.
Besides being a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he established three tree farm and landscaping businesses. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for Mizzou, the Kansas City Chiefs and especially the Kansas City Royals. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Everett is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; five children, Kevin Chapman and wife Karen; Kim Guthrie and husband Phillip; Melody Luebbert and husband Dennis; Matthew Chapman and wife Carolyn; and Keena Woolfolk and husband Rick; twenty grandchildren, five
great-grandchildren, four brothers, three sisters, their spouses and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Chapman, and a sister Sharon Chapman. The family would like to thank Carla with Oxford Hospice, the Procedural Radiology Department at Cox South and Dr. Charles Woodall and his staff for the wonderful care he received. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2017 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery, Rogersville.
