My thanks to eobancestry for entering this gravesite in FindaGrave. Marie married William Stanton Feb 5, 1885 in Newport, RI at the home of her brother, Lt. Aaron Ward,nee Burnett. They had no children and some of "Uncle Will's" grand nephews did not even know he was married.

"Emily died suddenly of heart disease at 117 West Fifty eighth Street, in her seventy-seventh
year. Mrs. Stanton'a father was General
Ward Burnett, who fought in the
Civil War, and her grandfather was
General Aaron Ward. She 'was a sister
of the late Rear Admiral Aaron
Ward and a niece of the late Samuel
J. Randall, once Speaker of the House OF Representatives."
