Joe was born in Nashvile, Ga. to John Wesley Griner and Ethel Joiner Griner.
Joe served over 44 years in the United States Army and National Guard. Most of this time was spent in the National Guard. He was loved by all his fellow soldiers, of whom there were many. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his son Matt Griner and Grandson Andrew Griner.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, three daughters, one sister, 11 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grand children.
He was also survived by nieces and nephews and extended family.
