Joyce Ann Frazier Edwards Bostic, 85 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA following an extended illness. Born January 10, 1932, in Falcon KY, she was born the daughter of the late Henry Frazier and the late Runa Lemaster Steele.

She attended Garden High School. In 1948 she met and married Leo Parkis Edwards. She was an LPN, having worked at Grundy Hospital and Buchanan General and Dr. Josh Sutherland. She loved to raise a garden, can her vegetables, embroidery and quilt. She made many beautiful quilts and gave them to family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Park Edwards; her second husband, Ranson Bostic; one son, Mark Edwards; one grandson, Brian Leo Hall, her step-father, Edward Steele; and two half brothers, James Frazier and Jerry Frazier.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters, Betty Jane (James) Owens of Tazewell, VA and Tansy Louise (Johnny) Hatfield of Patterson, VA; sons, Mitchell Lee (Patty) Edwards of Tazewell, VA and Charles (Juanita) Edwards of Maxie, VA; sisters, Linda (Doug) Sturgill of Utica, OH, and Sue (Johnny) McGuire of Bidwell, OH; daughter-in-law, Martha Edwards of Davidson, NC.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Dean Owens, Tim Edwards, Thomas Edwards, Courtney Lambertsen, Amy Ward, Melinda Wanke and Matthew Edwards; nine great grandchildren; Nathan Owens, Xzavier Ward, Ryder Ward, Lola Ward, Larsen Lambertsen, Lucas Lambertsen, Hugh Wanke, Liam Wanke, and Carter Edwards; and two great grandchildren Richard Owens and Waylon Owens. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Joyce Ann Frazier Edwards Bostic will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, Keen Mountain, VA, with Evangelists Mike Rife and Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the A. J. Edwards Cemetery, on Rakes Ridge in Birchleaf, VA.

Pallbearers will be her family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Tuesday, July 18 2017 after 6:00 p.m.
