DENTON - Christine B. Donald passed away Sunday, March 28, 1999, at a Denton hospital.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cole Chapel of the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Mueller and the Rev. Larry Nicholson, officiating.
Burial: Elmwood Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Christine B. Donald was born in Wise County near Rhome, to a pioneer Wise County Family, Hugh Banks and Clara Troxell Barker. She attended public schools in Mineral Wells and was a graduate of CIA (TWU) in 1927 and received a master of arts in English from the University of Texas in 1937. She married J.M. Donald in 1960 in Jacksboro; he died in 1977. She was a public school teacher in Keller and Bryson and librarian for the Navy at the Pentagon from 1941 to 1947. From 1947 to 1952, she waslibrarian at Air Force bases in Texas and Louisiana. She was a resident of Jacksboro from 1952, until moving to Denton in 1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Shakespeare Club and Cosmopolitan Sunday school class of the First United Methodist Church and was involved in many activities of Denton Good Samaritan Village, where she resided since 1983. She continued work she began with her late husband to create endowments that provide financial suport for educational and religious organizations.
Survivors: She is survived by many friends and cousins, including Margaret Hudnall of Denton.
