Obituary for Blanche S. Baim
Blanche S. Baim, age 92 of the Massry Residence, Washington Avenue Extension in Albany died Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Born in Los Angeles, California, Blanche resided most of her life in Chicago, Illinois and had been a Capital District resident the last 3 ½ years. While residing in Chicago she was a business manager for a glass and window company. Blanche was the daughter of the late Isadore and Esther Chemerisky Baim. She enjoyed attending services at Temple Israel in Albany as well as events sponsored by the Jewish Federation of NENY. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, which her family and friends so much enjoyed. Blanche also enjoyed her years in the Albany area. She is survived by her niece, Audrey Fisher and her husband Les of Delmar, NY and grandniece, Rabbi Michelle Fisher of Boston and a grandnephew, Lawrence Fisher and his partner Chris Daley of Madison, Ct, niece and nephew, Arlene Karush and her husband Robert, and nephew and niece, Gerald Goldman and his wife Sharon She is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews. Blanche was predeceased by her sisters, Florence . Services at the Menorah Gardens Cemetery in Broadview, Illinois on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 1:00pm. Those wishing to remember Blanche in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Avenue Albany, NY 12208, Jewish Federation of NENY, 184 Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, NY 12203, Jewish Federation of Metro Chicago, 30 S. Wells Street, Chicago, Illinois 60606 or Jewish Women International. The family would especially like to thank the Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing Home staff and the Massry Assisted Living staff for their kindnesses shown to Blanche and her family.
