Robert (Bob) Eugene Wright, 90 years old, of Upland CA passed away on May 26th 2017 at home with his daughter, Lisa, at his side. Born in Des Moines Iowa on June 21st 1926 to Carl A and Etha M (Dye) Wright. He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa C Wright of Upland CA, Vicky Vaughan of North Fork CA and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Marlys, sister Virginia Henkel, brothers Carter and Samuel, sons Ronald and Bryon. Bob was a veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theater. Life member of the VFW he was active in the Pomona, Upland and Rancho Cucamonga Posts. He also served 19 years on Memorial Honor Guard #18 at Riverside National Cemetery. A 3rd generation prospector he was involved with many mining and treasure hunter clubs. For over 30 years Bob traveled throughout the world as a field engineer in seismic and oil exploration, living months in many countries during the longer assignments.
From 1953 to 1984 he worked for United Geophysical (a Bendix Co) and Geophysical Systems Corps both located in Pasadena CA. Interment will take place Thursday August 3rd at 2:15pm at Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside CA. A celebration of his life to follow at the Rancho Cucamonga VFW Post #8680, 8751 Industrial Lane, Rancho Cucamonga CA.
