George Sanford Clark was the fourth child of Augustus and Ann Catherine Clark. He was born on the old Clark homestead, two miles south of Rossville, 64 years ago, and grew to manhood on the farm. Early in life he taught a few years in the district schools, but forty years ago he moved to Branchville, S. C., where he taught several years. He abandoned the teaching profession to enter the railway postal service. He became highly proficient in this work and continued in the service until he reached the retirement age two years ago. He had been in poor health for several years.
His wife was a Rossville woman – Miss Anna Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Moore. He is survived by his wife, a son at home, and a married daughter residing in England.
