Joan Theresa Wipperfurth, age 85, peacefully passed away at her home in Roxbury, Thursday, July 13, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 19, 1931, to the late John and Philomene (Miller) Heinz. Joan graduated from Waunakee High School; class of 1950. Joan married Leo Wipperfurth at St. John the Baptist Church in Waunakee on April 14, 1951; they recently celebrated 66 years together. She enjoyed raising her children at home and later worked at Dane County Outreach, Fish Building Supply and U.B.C. of Sauk City. Joan was an active member of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Roxbury; where she previously served as Parish Secretary, Religious Education Coordinator, and was an active member of the Council of Catholic Women. She often crocheted beautiful blankets; knitted socks, mittens, hats, and sweaters; and patched blue jeans for everyone. She enjoyed playing cards, attending family events, and visiting with her grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her husband, Leo; children, Susan (Ed Leykauf), Gary (Mary Ann), Mark (Debi), Paul (Angie), Ron (Juanita); grandchildren, Wendy (Craig) Meinholz; Becky (John Ruhland), Eric (Lisa), Erin (Brian Cribbs), Neil (Christina), Amanda (Nate Stertz), Ryan, Trisha, Jason (Nicole Kippley), David (Cara), Ashley; great grandchildren, Brice, Kaili, Seth (Calista Hoffman), Simon, Lucas, Cade, Kolby, Rayna, Parker, Addison, Ethan, Cole, Kayla, Evann, Julia, Brock, Miles; a sister, Jan (Connie) Pulvermacher-Ryan; she is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marion Noltner, William “Bud” Heinz, Alice Pulvermacher, and Jean Enge.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017, at St. Norbert Catholic Church, Roxbury with Fr. Christopher Padilla. A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sun. July 16, 2017 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City where the Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 pm. Visitation will also be held the morning of mass at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 10:45am. Burial will follow in the St. Norbert
