Cremation Karen Halley, 64, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, in Winter Haven, Florida. She was born on July 11, 1952, in Connersville, a daughter of Margaret Wright and the now late Charles Mellen.
Karen was a 1970 graduate of Centerville High School and a 1974 graduate of Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.
She was married to John Halley on July 1, 1972; he survives.
Karen was active in many different roles in the communities she lived in before finally retiring as secretary to the principal at Lebanon High School.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Karen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include husband John Halley of Lebanon; children Laura Jacoby and husband, Matt of Wabash, Katherine Ames and husband, Ben of Greenfield; grandchildren Jackson Jacoby, Margaret Ames and Paul Ames; brothers Dale Mellen and wife, Carrie, David Mellen, and Donald Mellen; and step-sister Judy Fry and husband, Mike.
In addition to her father and step-father Jack Wright, Karen was preceded in death by a step-brother, Steve Wright.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, Services are planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date.
