MARKSVILLE - A mass for Norman James Burmah will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2 following the mass.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, 445 West Bon Tempt Street, Marksville.
Mr. Burmah was 104 years old and born on December 10, 1910 in Hammond to the late Ludaris and Maude Robinson Burmah. He left quietly to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2015.
He was a native of New Orleans and moved to Marksville following Hurricane Katrina to be closer to his daughter. He was the husband of the late Norma Burmah, and had twice celebrated as the oldest living couple in the State of Louisiana and also father to the late Vernon Jones Burmah.
He was the father of Joyce Burmah Desselle of Marksville. He had one son-in-law, Howard Desselle, Jr. of Marksville; two grandsons, Howard Desselle, III and Trent Desselle; five granddaughters, Melody, Joy, Glenda and Gladys, Michelle Burmah Jones; a number of loving great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville in honor of Mr. Norman Burmah.
