CARBONDALE - John W. Short, 79, died Friday morning, Feb. 2, 2007, in Helia Healthcare Center in Carbondale.
Mr. Short was born May 22, 1927, in Jackson County, the son of Charles Ralph and Ollie Mae (Schoolcraft) Short.
He married Ruth Madeline Bush on Nov. 5, 1945, in Royalton. She passed away Oct. 25, 2001.
He was the owner of Short's Heating and Air Conditioning.
He is survived by one half-brother, James Ray Harrison of Elkville; many nieces and nephews and several close friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, in Huffman-Harker Funeral Home in Carbondale. Burial will follow in Murdale Gardens of Memory.
Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Short may be made to the Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
