John L. Applegate, 89, of rural Hidalgo died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday in Cumberland Nursing Center, Greenup.
Mr. Applegate was born near Hazel Dell. He was married to Ruth Johnson, who preceded him in death. He later married Ola Rinehart, who survives.
Other survivors are one son, Byrl of Mesa, Ariz.; one daughter, Eva Applegate, Effingham; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today in Bishop Funeral Home, Greenup. Burial will be in Hazel Dell Cemetery near Greenup.
