Mary died in Newport, Jackson County, Arkansas in a tornado as did her daughter Margaret. They are buried in Surrounded Hill Cemetery in Jackson County, Arkansas.
Their daughter Eva "Elizabeth" Kent Montgomery was unable to locate the cemetery in Arkansas, so she included her mother's name on her father James' headstone as a memorial to her.
