Brice Reining, 57, a Chicago & North Western railroad inspector of Granite City and brother of Mrs. Minnie Crews, Mrs. Augusta Davis, both of Black Oak and Mrs. Hester Hobrock of near Beardstown, was accidentally killed in a railroad collision Wednesday morning near Staunton. Formerly of Green Valley, he had lived at Granite City for the past nine and a one-half years.
He died in a collision of a train and a railroad motorcar on which he was riding.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Preston Funeral home in Pekin, with the Rev C E Richeson officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens at Pekin. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.
He was born on a farm near Beardstown November 21, 1902. The son of Charles and Alma Morgan Reining. He married Zelda Large in Jacksonville July 22, 1922. He was a member of the First Assembly of God church in Pekin. He was employed by the railroad 35 years and lived at Green Valley many years.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Earl Reining of Redlands, Calif., A. Brice Reining of Green Valley and Gale Reining at home: and a daughter, Mrs Clarice Verhaeghe of rural Dundee.
There are also six sisters, Mrs. Augusta Davis, Mrs. Minnie Crews, and Mrs Hester Hobrock, all of Beardstown. Mrs. Elda Crews of Meredosia, Mrs. Lizzie Turner of Winchester and Mrs. Evelyn Rowe of Merritt. Two brothers are deceased.
