DECATUR — Anna “Ann” Mae Rogers Branum, 87, passed away on July 11, 2017. Ann was born on March 22, 1930, in Shelbyville, Tennessee; at the age of 16 she moved with her parents to Decatur. While attending Riverside High School, Ann met her sweetheart, Dick Branum, and they later married in 1948. Ann raised her three wonderful children with love in Alabama. For the next 69 years, Ann’s priorities were her relationship with Christ; being a wife and mother; and helping establish the family business in Trinity. At a young age, Ann accepted Christ as her Savior while attending the Church of the Nazarene. Recently, she worshipped at Victory Baptist Church in Moulton. Ann was always quietly working for her Lord with a gentle spirit. This was reflected in her years of life, as well as, the way she gently and peacefully passed away from this earth to her heavenly home.

Anna is preceded in death by her three sisters and one brother.

Anna leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband, R.T. ”Dick” Branum; daughter, Suzanne Nickelson (David); sons, Richard “Dicky” Branum (Judy) and Paul Branum (Dinah); six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews scattered across the country.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
