Judith L. Whitmore, age 74, of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, Monday morning, July 27, 2015. She was born October 3, 1940 in Sandusky, Ohio to Edward and Cora (Furstenberg) Carlson. She married Charles Whitmore on May 27, 1978.

Judy drove bus for 15 years for the Springfield Local School District. After retirement, she worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Wauseon. She truly loved being around people and putting a smile on their faces. Judy will be remembered as a fantastic cook. She looked forward to preparing big family dinners. She and her husband, Chip, also loved four wheeling in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Judy will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 37 years, Chip; her sons, Alan Shagena and Steven Shagena; daughters, Shelly (Danny Boy) and Laurie Watkins; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cathy; and brothers, Jack and Ed Carlson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 30th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31st at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Davis officiating. Interment will be private.
