His family moved to Lee County, Iowa in 1849 and finally settled at New Providence, Hardin County, Iowa in 1861. In the year 1898 he was married to his present wife, Amelia Murdock, who with the children remain to mourn his loss. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife Mrs. Amelia Wing, two sons and a daughter (the wife of the attorney genereral of the state of North Dakota), three grandsons, three brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Wing came to this county in the year 1905 and took up a goverment homestead on which he had final pronf. Mr. Wing died Nov. 3, 1910, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Andrew Miller, in the city of Bismark, N.D., and was buried in the Linton Cemetery last Sunday.

He was followed to the grave by Mrs. Wing, the widow, E.P. Wing, Mrs. Andrew Miller, L.L. Wing and wife of Milwaukee, the last two being cousins of Mrs. Wing and Mrs. Murdock, the aged mother of the widow. The funeral was from the Methodist church, which was filled with sorrowing friends and acquaintances. A splendid quartet sang selected hymns loved by the dead clergyman. The sermon was peached by Rev. N. Wood and the eulogy was delivered by Charles S. Lane of this town. Mr. Wing was a singularly pure man - his life above reproach. He was a student of philosphy and of religion. Much missed will this good man be. His tall, spare form will no longer be seen on our streets, no longer will his fine voice speaking to them of the higher things of life, but those of us who knew him will rejoice thqat the quiet, unostentatious, useful life of this good man will abide forever. May he rest in peace.
