Arthur Myles Ahart, 87, 931 Dana NE, died Thursday at 8 am in Gillette Country Place following an extended illness.

Mr. Ahart was born July 4, 1891 in Wirt County, West Virginia, the son of William A. and Allie Porter Ahart. Formerly of Akron, he came to Warren in 1923.

He was an employee of the Republic Steel Corporation for 37 years, retiring in 1961. Mr. Ahart was a charter member of McKinley Community Church and belonged to the Senior Citizens Bowling League at Laurel Lanes.

He was a veteran of World War I and served in the Ohio National Guard.

Besides his wife, the former Dorothy Pettit, whom he married in 1922, he leaves three sons, Alfred P. of Tallmadge, Versie H. of Southington and David L. of Berlin Center; three daughters, Mrs. Merle (Bernice) Ashton of Cuyahoga Falls, Mrs. Wilson (Artha) Stigleman of Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs. Carmen (Barbara) Camp of Southington; two sisters, Mrs. John (Pearl) Lewis of Cuyahoga Falls an Mrs. C.L. (Olive) Ashton of Cuyahoga Falls; one brother, Andrew L. of Orlando, Florida; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 pm at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where friends may call today from 7 to 9 pm. Burial will be in Southington Reformed Cemetery.
