Robert M. Stoops, 75, of Lancaster, PA died Friday morning, July 7, 2017 at his home.

Born September 25, 1941 at home in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late J. Shover and Irene (Shindledecker) Stoops. He was the husband of Darlene (Berlin) Stoops, of Lancaster whom he married on December 21, 1962; they were married 55 years.

Mr. Stoops was a member of the Worship Center, Lancaster, PA. He was retired from Northwest Savings Bank in New Holland where he served as branch manager. Bob was a member of Manheim Township Ambulance Association for 40 years, the Green Hill Sportsman Association and the Adams County Fish & Game Association. In addition he was involved with the Boy Scouts of America as a Cub Master and Lancaster Midget football and baseball, where he served as president, coach, and was on the medical staff. He also played in the Willow Street Old Timers Softball League and volunteered with the Special Olympics. Bob loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, golfing, and playing softball.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his three sons, R. Michael Stoops and his wife Marlene, of East Prospect, PA, R. Mark Stoops and his wife Gina, of Columbia, PA, R. Matthew Stoops, of Lancaster, PA, six grandchildren, Ashley, Dylan, Camden, Stephanie, Richie, Brooke, three great-grandchildren, Kayden, Cameron, Aria, his twin brother, Richard Stoops and his wife Jackie, of Delaware, and his sister, Mary Ott, of Orrtanna, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Stoops, and his five sisters, Dorothy Stoops, Zoe Haines, Peggy Swisher, Joann Sharar, and Elise Davis.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Chambersburg Rd., Gettysburg, PA. The Monahan Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements and online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
