Daughter of Andrew James Andersen and Hannah Marie Hansen

Married Charles Evert Johnson, 17 May 1907, Logan, Cache, Utah

Married Mark Gilbert McBride, 3 Jan 1938, Hyrum, Cache, Utah

History - Media A. Bride, daughter of Andrew J. Anderson and Hannah Peterson, was born April 34d, 1887 in Hyrum, Utah. She had five brothers and three sisters. Times were hard for them. She tells of going away to work in the beet fields and having to live in tents on the farm where they were working. A group of girls would be living together in tents and would prepare their own meals (mostly canned foods). She said they worked hard in the hot sun but it was fun. She picked fruit and berries and beans to help earn the meager living also. She talked about the fun they had out at the pond as a child, skating and swimming. She also loved to dance and spent a lot of enjoyable evenings in the Elite Hall in Hyrum.

At the age of 19 she met and married Charles Johnson, 17 Mar 1907. Together they had eleven children - six boys and five girls. They lived in various places in the valley, but for the first few years lived in Hyrum where four of the children were born. They then moved to Idaho and later to Montana. There in a few shorts years some of the children were married and she became blessed with grandchildren. She was very fond of each new arrival. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Years later when some of the children were still young, she moved back to Hyrum and there she stayed with Levi Anderson (a brother). The children went to school from there. While living at Hyrum, she met and married Mark McBride, 3 jan 1938. he had nine children so the family grew by leaps and bounds. She love them all.

She had a nice home in Hyrum and loved to plant flowers and watch them grow. She and Mark were blessed with many grandchildren from these two large families. They each lost a boy in World War II and that brought them great sorrow. Media loved to have company and got great pleasure in cooking a nice meal for them. People were always welcomed in her home.

In later years when her health as well as her husband's was failing, they sold their home and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to live with a daughter (Roma Mills). They were only there a short time when she, as well as her husband, became so homesick for Cache Valley that they were brought back to Hyrum and good old Cache Valley.

Media spent the last few years of her life in Smithfield with Mark and her daughter Roma. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed but she leaves all of us with a desire to love and enjoy the bounties of life and the joy in her posterity and all that is to follow her. As a mother and grandmother, she was the greatest.

She passed away on July 21, 1975, and she leaves beside her husband, a posterity of 10 children, 52 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
