The Daughter of George Allen, b. Northern Ireland and Mary Blasdell b. Upper Quebec., w/o Sylvester Rice, m. on the 19th of June 1855 in Wakefield, Quebec.


Siblings: Thomas Wright Allen b. 1834, Andrew b. 1836, Susannah b. 1843 in Hull, Quebec w/o William Glenn, John b. 1846 h/o Mary Rosa Chapman, Mary b. 1847 & Paulina Anne b. 1850, the w/o John McBain, Emeline b. 1853.


On the 1851 Census, Enumeration District: Masham, Ottawa County, Canada East, Quebec, Elizabeth Age: 13


In 1855, marriage Methodist Church in Wakefield, Quebec


In 1859, left Canada and moved to Wisconsin


In 1865, Census, Residence, New Auburn, Sibley County, MN


On May 1, 1875, Census, Residence, New Auburn, Sibley County, MN


In Sept 1876, left Minnesota for the Willamette Valley, in a wagon train of 52, led by Capt. Radcliff.


Left Council Bluffs, Iowa to Omaha then on the Old Trail to Fort Laramie, WY., then going onto the Oregon Trail to Fort Boise, where her granddaughter Ida May Shields was born on Feb. 6, 1877.


Instead of continuing on to the Willamette Valley, the families changed their minds and headed for the Washington Territory instead.
