Ms. Normile, age 72, of county Route 10 in Corinth, NY, passed away unexpectedly at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Alberta (King) Carroll.

She graduated from Indian Lake Central School in 1961 and then graduated from Plattsburgh State University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

She married William T. Normile on July 30, 1966, in Corinth in the front room of their home and have lived there for 49 years.

She was employed following her graduation as the school nurse at Castleton-on-the Hudson for a year, and then worked as a nurse at Corinth Hospital as well as International Paper Co. in Corinth. She was then employed as the school nurse for more than 30 years at Corinth Central School until her retirement in June 2006. Many of those years she shared nursing the students with Sharon Miller.

She attended the First United Methodist Church of Corinth and enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Hurricanes bowling league in South Glens Falls. She spent 14 years giving care to her mother at the former Hallmark Nursing Home/The Stanton in Queensbury. In her younger years, she enjoyed skiing and skating.

She enjoyed doing ceramics with her best friend and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, Soduku puzzles and watching movies. She was the original “Mrs. Clean” and took great pride in making and keeping a beautiful home for her family. She was the supporting rock for her family and friends.

Survivors, besides her husband of 49 years, include two children of Moreau and Wilton; one sister of Indian Lake; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved cat, Pasha.

Services were at Densmore Funeral Home Inc., 7 Sherman Avenue, Corinth with the Reverend John Aldridge officiating.
