YORK Dean L. McCurdy, 70, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2007, at Manor Care South. He was the husband of Norma J. (Boyer) McCurdy. They were married 47 years on June 6, 2006. He was born November 15, 1936, in Wellsville, a son of the late Lloyd and Ruth (Snellbaker) McCurdy. Dean was a machinist with Redco, Galaxy Tire and Rubber in Red Lion and had previously worked at AMF Corp. in York. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hellam, the National Horseshoe Association, and a social member of the VFW Post in Hellam. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. The viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John B. Pinder, III officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. In addition to his wife, Dean is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Ann Fuhrman and her husband, Steve of York, and Christine Ann McCurdy of Windsor; and two sisters, Janet I. Keeney and her husband, Phil of Dover, and Shirley Crone and her husband, Larry of Dover. Dean was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Filmore, III; and a brother, Larry McCurdy.
