Dora Romero Garnand, 67 of Corona, NM died Friday, January 21, 2005 at her daughter’s home in Los Lunas, NM following an illness.

She was born June 26, 1937 in Pastura, NM the daughter of Paublin and Cleotilde (Armijo) Romero.

She was reared at Pastura and Milagro. She made her home in Corona, NM where her husband ranched.

Dora loved to sing and was a past member of the church choir; she also loved to crochet, work puzzles, the outdoors and all birds and animals.
Dora was preceded in death by her father Paublin Romero; two sisters Bennie Tapia, and Lydia Encinias; and a brother Isidro Romero. Dora was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and sister and will be greatly missed by her family.
Survivors include her husband George Garnand of the family home in Corona; a daughter Denise Garnand-Carasco and husband Adrian; two grandchildren Samantha Garnand-Carasco and Angelo Carasco all of Los Lunas; her mother Cleotilde Romero of Fort Sumner, NM; three sisters Rita Muniz and husband Leo of Milagro, NM; Soledad “Sally” Saiz and husband Henry of Fort Sumner; Joel Johnson and husband Bill of Santa Rosa; six brothers, Paublin Romero Jr. and wife Emma of Milagro; Pete Romero of Milagro; Trinnie Romero and Christine of Santa Rosa; Greg Romero of Santa Rosa; Will Romero and wife Rhonda of Hereford, TX; and Leroy Bonney and wife Darlene of Santa Rosa.Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Burial in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her brothers, Paublin Romero, Pete Romero, Trinnie Romero, Greg Romero, Wilfred Romero, and Leroy Bonney.
