"Henry F. "Jack" Dancy, Jr. Henry Franklin "Jack" Dancy, Jr., age 90, of Port Deposit, MD, died Monday, October 8, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mount Hope, WV, on March 11, 1922, he was the son of the late Henry F. and Susie Butcher Dancy. Mr. Dancy was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. A retired welder, he had worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail Railroad. Mr. Dancy was a superb cook and an avid gardener. He enjoyed working in his granddaughter's greenhouse and traveling to visit family in Iowa and Florida. Survivors include his children, Thomas Parker, Alton, MO, Patricia Jones, Port Deposit, MD, Patricia Wiltfang, Grinnell, IA, and Marianne Hall, Severn, MD; grandchildren, Tim, Margaret, Eric, Bennett, Angel, Sabrina, Maggie, Anneliese, Tiffany and Michelle; great-grandchildren, Jackie, Bobby, Jeanette, Tara, Tyler, Eric Jr., John Henry, Jordyn, Savanna, Hayli, Jack and Alyssa; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dancy was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gilligan Dancy; siblings, Clarence, Turk, Elmer, James, Ray and "Sis" Dancy; and grandchildren, Mike and Cindy. Graveside service with military honors will be held 1 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2012, in Elkton Cemetery, Elkton, MD. Flowers are welcome; however, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921."
