Mrs. Gattis was born on July 10, 1924 in Schley County, GA to the late Leo and Willie Williams. She had worked for County Gas, Planters Hardware and Manhattan Shirt Company as an accountant. Mrs. Gattis loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially crocheting lap throws and beanie hats for children homes and nursing homes. Mrs. Gattis was a member of County Line United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Gattis and wife, Judy of Ellaville, Michael Gattis and wife Michelle of McComb, MS; three daughters, Edwina Kitchens and husband Clifton of Ellaville, Brenda Poole and husband Mike of Warner Robins, GA, Michele Inhulsen and husband Dwaine of Ellaville; one brother, Herbert Williams and wife Lentz of Ellaville, and Lettie Lee Royal of Ellaville. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron Alvin Gattis, brother in law, George Royal and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Perfect Care, 114 Sullivan Drive, Americus, GA 31709.
