Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Joyce Cecil and Marilee Allen, both of Knoxville, five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was reared and educated in Gilson, and lived all his life in the community, where he farmed. He was a trustee on the Gilson Cemetery Board, a former member of the Gilson Volunteer Fire Department, and drove a school bus for the former Gilson High School.
Funeral services were held at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, with Rev. James Vancil officiating. Burial was in Gilson Cemetery.
