Edgar L. Baxley, 88 of Keytesville, Missouri formerly of Dalton died February 7, 2002 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. Edgar was born February 2, 1914 in Dalton, Missouri, the son of Charles and Caroline Louise (Myers) Baxley.
Edgar married Veva Searcy and she preceded him in death on March 26, 1984. He married Ethel Heishman on Sept 3, 1986, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 1979. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Raymond Baxley and a sister, Juanita Price.
Mr. Baxley served in the U.S. Navy as a ship's cook 3rd Class for his country during WWII. He was a member of the Dalton Immanuel Methodist Church, a member of the Rucker-McAlister American Legion Post #7 in Brunswick, and he had worked for Western Alfalfa in Brunswick for 12 years.
Survivors include three sons and three daughters-in-law; Larry and Susan Baxley of Salisbury, Charles and Carolyn Baxley of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Phillip and Jackie Baxley of Huntsville, Missouri; four daughters and two sons-in-law; Pat and Maurice Scheiderer of Salisbury, Gloria Young of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cheryl Tietjens of Brookfield, and Cynthia and Rick Langdon of Marshall, Missouri; a step-daughter, Nadine Hutchings and her husband Phillip of Brunswick; one sister, Ruby Krause of Brentwood, Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb 11, 2002 at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with burial in Dalton Cemetery.
