Shreveport, LA - Mrs. Gladys Moentmann passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8th, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 8895 Youree Drive. Officiating will be Pastor Stanley Larson. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park.
Mrs. Moentmann was a native of Forest Park, Illinois and a resident of Shreveport since 1972. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She worked for State Farm Agents for many years and volunteered at Highland Christus Schumpert for 12 years until a recent illness.
Mrs. Moentmann was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carl Moentmann; daughter, Elise Marie Moentmann; son, Timothy Carl Moentmann and wife, Belinda; grandchildren, J'nell Sanderson and husband, Josh and Garrett Moentmann; great-granddaughter, Addison Joy Sanderson; and many relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Moentmann, Josh Sanderson, Larry Cope, Jacque Falkenstine, Robert Anderson and Lamar Pugh. Honorary pallbearers will be John Schulze, Jr., Robert Atkins and Roger Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses, doctors and staff at Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital, Life Care on Linwood Ave. and Grace Home.
