Wray Bowling Gunn, 70, passed away June 26, 2017. He graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1964 and attended Memphis State University from 1964-1966.

Wray was a crew chief for UH 1 Huey helicopters. He served in the 163rd Avn. Co, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He held an FAA private pilot’s license and A & P mechanic’s license. Wray was employed by Signature Flight Support Maintenance until 2007. He also played with several local Memphis bands.

Wray was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Clara Gunn; 3 brothers, Daniel Gunn, William Gunn, and Robert Gunn.

He is survived by 2 brothers, John Gunn of Jonesboro, AR and Charles Gunn of Corpus Christi, TX along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm Friday June 30 followed by funeral services at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
