On Sunday before his death he suffered a fall from his back porch and a partial stroke. Had he lived until August 22, he would have been 83 years old.
He was born August 22, 1870. In 1878 when he was 8 years old he migrated with his folks from Tazewell Tenn to Owsley County Ky.
In 1890 he was united in marriage to Lou Emily Bowman of Island City. To this marriage was born 4 children all of whom survive (In 1953). John Chadwell of Sturgeon, William Chadwell of Shelbyville, Mrs. Fred G. Peters (Martha) of Sturgeon and Mrs. Roscoe Brewer (Eva) of Berea.
After the death of his first wife, Lou Emily, he married Nannie McDaniel of Sextons Creek. To this marriage was born 4 children 3 of whom survive. Lawrence Chadwell of Cincinnati Ohio, Andy Chadwell of Island City, Mrs. Graydon Tincher (Pearl) of Sturgeon. Roy Chadwell died in infancy.
In addition to his wife Nan, and seven Children, he is survived by 20 grandchildren, and eight great grand children. He has one brother Monroe Chadwell of Soquel, California and 7 neices and nephews also residing in California.
The funeral was held Friday August 14, at 4:00 p. m. at the family cemetery with Rev. Boyd Sandlin in charge.
