William was the son of John W & Nancy Abigail (Susenia) Harman Davis.

William married Sinia Servania (Vannie) Stevens. She is buried in the Oaklawn Cemtery, Dallas, Dallas County, TX.

William traveled to TN where he married Sinie. He returned to the north woods of Red River County, TX with his new bride and her mother, Mary Mollie Lovin (Stevens). William and Vannie farmed and owned a sawmill with his (brother George (?)).

In November 1908 tragedy struck the family when just before Thanksgiving William Wesley died at the age of 37. Squire Erben said that everyone thought the Widdow and those children would starve, but with lots of work and determination the family again did well.

The children attended Midway School and most of them married and raised their families in Red River County, TX.

William Wesley Davis was born in Red River County, Texas. He married Sinnie (aka Vannie) Stevens November 8, 1891. William Wesley and Vannie farmed and owned a saw mill with William's brother George. They prospered and their little family grew.

Shortly before Thanksgiving of 1908 William died (five days after their 17th wedding anniversary). A family story handed down from Vannie through her son, Jesse Sturdivant, is that Mr. Davis got sick after chasing a bull down. He got too hot, then too cold, got sick and died shortly thereafter at the age of 37 years. He was buried in Detroit Texas. It is said that everyone thought his widow and seven children would starve, but with lots of work and determination the family again did well. The children attended Midway School and most of them married and began their families in Red River County.

William was a "Woodsman of the World".
