JANSCHA, BETTIE RUTH of Irving, Texas went to heaven surrounded by family on January 19, 2014 at the age of 84 after a long illness.

She was born in Dallas, Texas on October 17, 1929 to Nash Edward Long, Sr. and Clara Mae Daniel Long. As a Fourth generation Texan, she was a member of the Nash and Beeman families. Bettie was a 1946 graduate of Garland High School and attended Business School. She married William F. Janscha on September 1, 1950.

Bill and Bettie raised two sons, Bill, Jr. and Robert. She was a member of the Irving chapter of the Benevolent, Patriotic Order of Does and was an active member at Irving North Christian Church. Bettie worked and retired as a bookkeeper for Superior Foods while delighting in traveling with family and friends as well as spoiling her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Nash and Clara; brother, Nash Long, Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Gene Winkler and Buddy Stone.

Bettie is survived by her sons, William Janscha, Jr. of Irving and Robert Janscha and wife, Kathy of Irving; grandchildren, James Janscha and wife, Jessica of Rowlett and Kristen Janscha of Irving; sisters, Florence Stone of Garland, Clara Winkler of Rowlett, Ernie Anderson and husband, Eddie of McKinney; and sister-in-law, Helen Long of Prairie Lea as well as various nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Irving North Christian Church with the burial to follow at 2:00pm at Restland.
