He was born on January 22, 1944 in Brandenburg, Meade County, KY, the son of the late Joseph Albert Allen and Ida Mae Bennett Allen. He had worked for Taylor Builders in Louisville, KY, doing Construction and Carpentry work. He was a member of the Family Worship Center in Carrollton.
He will be missed by his wife, Gloria Faye Motley Allen of Sanders, KY, a son, Frankie Delano of Athens, AL, two daughters, Jennifer Allen of Bowling Green, KY, and Brenda McKenzie of Louisville, KY, a step-son, Kelly Martin of Worthville, KY, four step-daughters, Kimberly Mefford of Carrollton, KY, Karla Martin of Sanders, KY, Kristie Brown of Sanders, KY, and Kandon Sanders of Sanders, KY, a brother, Louis Allen of Louisville, KY, two sisters, Nellie Warren of Brooks, KY, and Wanda Branson of Louisville, KY, twenty one grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, James “Jamie” Albert, Jr. and Jarred Allen, six brothers and nine sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in care of the funeral home.
