Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, two-time cancer survivor, Jane passed away after a long illness.

Born in Arlington, Virginia, to Gertrude T. Bridges and Oscar C. Bridges, Jane was the only daughter in a family of five brothers. She was a lifelong resident of Blue Springs Farm in Chantilly, Virginia. She graduated from Herndon High School.

Jane was married to James Leroy Jackson August 23, 1952. She was employed at the Navy Yard, and also worked briefly in her husband's insurance agency, and then devoted herself to raising their family. Her community and church activities were many; Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters, Herndon Women's Club, Lions Club, United Methodist Women, Choir, various church boards and committees. Jane enjoyed family get-togethers at her vacation home on the Potomac River. She loved to celebrate special occasions and entertain family and friends in her home, and will long be remembered for her fabulous dinner, birthday and holiday parties. She was an accomplished seamstress, a meticulous homemaker, and had a passion for cooking and cake-baking.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Oscar Bridges, her brothers, Charles A., Thomas W., William E. (Betty) and John W. "Jack" (Linda). She is survived by her loving husband, Leroy Jackson, her three children, Thomas (Linda), Deborah (Robert) and Timothy (Brenda), brother Robert O. Bridges (Helen), eight grandchildren, Cameron (Seth), Thomas (Erin), Elizabeth (Michael), Meghan (Robert) Mary-Jane (Andrew), Stephanie (John), Trevor (Nikki), Travis (Magun), thirteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
