Hubert O. "Bud" Sharp, was born in KY, son of Jesse and Mary Sharp on Sept., 8, 1914.

He was married in 1939 to Dovey Bray, which produced one child, Mary Margaret Sharp, born June 29, 1940.

Mr. Sharp's early life was lived in both KY, and IL he received a Christian Baptism in Mansfield, IL. As a young man, he responded to his country's call in WWII and entered the U.S.Army and on Oct. 28, 1945, was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

On May 16, 1942, he married Lillian Brackhage in Coffeyville, Kansas. Their early married life was lived near several military basis until his discharge. As an adult he confessed his faith in Christ and became a communicant member of the Luthern Church in Vernon, TX. Both he and Lillian are members of St. John Ev. Luthern Church, Aurora.

After the cessation of the conflict he and Lillian moved to their home, in Lawrenceburg, where they lived for 40 years. Bud engaged in several occupations, including farming, policeman, and then worked for AEP (formerly I & M) until his retirement.
A friend of his told me that he worked with him 15 years at I&M. He was a fine man and gentleman. He and Lil built and operated the Dari Boat in Lawrenceburg. Lil also operated the cafeteria at I&M for several years.Their marriage was blessed with three children; Mary Sharp, Joyce Sharp (Dr. Lea) Richmond, Atlanta, Ga and Eddie Sharp, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all mourn his death.

Affectionaly called ,"Bud", had survived several major surgeries, required oxygen in his last years at home. An avid Bible reader, he remained faithful to his LORD and was called to his eternal rest, on Sept 1, 1997, after a recent hospitalzation.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Jessie O. Sharp and Mary Belle Cain Sharp and three sisters.

His funeral was held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Aurora, IN and is buried in Aurora.
