Capt. James Jones, son of Josiah Jones, and grandson of Lewis Jones, was born in Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts on 4 September 1679. He married Sarah Moore of East Sudbury, Massachusetts. He died in Weston, Middlesex, Massachusetts 14 September 1770 at the age of 91; Sarah (Moore) Jones died in Weston 28 September 1774 at the age of 90.
