WIFE FOLLOWS HUSBAND - Col. S. S. Crockett's Death Followed by That of Wife

Paris, Tex., March 9.--Col. S. S. Crockett, an old and highly respected citizen of Lamar County, in his eighty-second year, died at his home in Blossom at 8 o'clock last night. Five hours later, at 1 o'clock this morning, his devoted wife, who broke down from nervous prostration and contracted the grip in nursing him, breathed her last. The double funeral took place at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Knights of Honor Cemetery, and was conducted by John Pelham Camp, United Confederate Veterans, of which the deceased was a member. Col. Crockett and wife came to Lamar County a number of years ago from Kentucky. Mrs. Crockett was 69 years old. One of their children, D. D. Crockett, is a resident of Dallas, and is prominent in insurance circles.
