Harland A. Fredrick, age 85, took the next step in life’s journey on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He was born on July 20, 1931 in Hartford to parents Arthur and Leona (Pfuehler) Fredrick. Harland graduated from Hartford Union High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Margaret Hackbarth. Harland owned and operated H. Fredrick and Sons Builders for over 50 years.

Harland was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed trips to Canada and camping with his family. Harland was an active member of the Hartford American Legion Post 19.

Harland is survived by five children, Michael, David, Larry (Barb), Timothy (Michelle), Jay (Colleen); five grandchildren, Russell, Cory, Shannon, Benjamin and Dustin; one great-grandson, Nash; one brother, Ken Fredrick. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Harland is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Malcow.

Funeral Services will be held at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street, Hartford on Wednesday, June 14 at 6:00 PM. Visitation from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Committal at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Thursday, June 15 at 10:00 AM. The family would like to thank Season’s Hospice Inpatient Unit for their care and support.
